I didn't know the paint would stick to that material. This is awesome! So Cal you're right, the length of the box measurement on page 1 said 25" but it should say 35" (10+7+10+7+1). Just for anyone else trying to make it! Thanks again! 9:31 PM Morgan said. I did find one measurement, on page #1 where the length was off by 10 inches (I think). I am totally craft challenged and the directions were great. Thank you so much for your quick response! We are cutting away. Lots of room for improvement in the tire department! 12:01 AM So Cal Family said. Oh, and the wheels were just painted cardboard, glued to the inside of the truck body. Please send me a photo of your finished truck, and Happy Halloween to you and your little sanitation professional! 11:47 PM BixDog said. I hope this helps- I can draw this stuff, but I'm terrible at explaining it! You could do it in 3 pieces, just remember to add the tabs along the edges so you can glue it all together. And if you can't fit it all on one piece of cardboard, just break it up. You might want to use a sheet of newsprint to draw a side view of your cab, then measure from the bottom front edge to the back edge of the roof- that should give you a pretty accurate measurement. I think the cardboard piece would have to be about 25" tall(13.5" plus 11"), maybe a little less because the slope of the windshield would shave off some of the height. Hi So Cal Family! That's a good question. What is the total height of the cardboard needed, including the fold-over flap? Also, what did you use for wheels? Many thanks!! 11:06 PM BixDog said. Thanks for the blueprints! I am stuck on page 6 - the cab. I am hoping you still read the comments on your blog. ![]() Wonderful! AB 11:45 PM So Cal Family said. We made it this year for our son, it was a lot of fun. The garbage truck costume is awesome, so are the blueprints. It was a lot of fun for me and he LOVES to play in it. I am in the process of making this for my 3 year old. Had a few little problems, but nothing a box-cutter and hot glue couldn't solve. Thank You very much for your detailed instructions. Thanks again! And I hope you post about what Matt will be dressed as in '08. Your blue prints are a great source of ideas. I am going to attempt to turn our red wagon into a trash truck to pull my son (the garbage man) around on Halloween night. You did a great job and I hope I can pull it off half as well as you.
